Rates, Insurance, and Policies

  • Individual therapy- $200 for a 55 minute session
  • Couples and partnership therapy- $250 for a 55 minute session

I accept SSM Dean, Quartz, and MercyCare. I’m considered an out of network provider for some insurance companies. Some insurance companies will provide coverage for out of network providers, usually at a 40-80% rate.

I can provide superbills as well.

For those who may not be familiar with superbills, it’s a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement for out-of-network therapy services. It contains information about your therapy sessions such as dates, services received, diagnosis codes and associated costs.

The way this works is you pay your therapist directly and are reimbursed by your insurance later. HMOs like SSM Dean generally don’t offer reimbursement.

I highly encourage you to talk to your insurance provider to understand the specifics of your out-of-network benefits. This can help you make informed decisions about the financial aspects of therapy and manage expectations regarding out-of-pocket costs.

Some helpful questions to ask include:

  • What are my mental health benefits?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
  • How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
  • Is there a deductible I have to reach before reimbursement starts?
  • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

Please be sure to cancel or reschedule your appointment 48 business hours before it’s scheduled through your client portal

Without enough time, I’m unable to offer that time to another client which is why cancellations for reasons other than illness or an emergency will incur my full session rate. This policy applies to last-minute rescheduling or failing to attend the session.

Questions about Therapy

Yes, I offer in person sessions at my office in Janesville, WI. You can find driving and parking directions here.

Yes, throughout the states of Wisconsin and Texas.

Sessions with me last for 55 minutes.

Typically, I’ll meet weekly with new clients as they begin treatment and as our work progresses, we’ll discuss frequency and what best serves you. I have clients I see weekly, every other week, and monthly depending on their treatment needs.

I ask clients to consider attending three sessions with me to determine if they feel I’m the therapist for them. If they decide I’m not, I’m happy to make a referral to another therapist who might be more of what they’re looking for.

The length of therapy can span a range of short-term therapy of a few months to more extended long-term therapy.

Either way, you can rest assured knowing that we will collaborate consistently about your goals, progress, and how treatment evolves to ensure your needs are being met.

I semi-joke with my clients that my goal is to get them out of my office or off my screen as soon as possible! And I’m also semi-serious because my goal is to have us do effective work that helps you live the life you want to be living out in the world when our therapy work is done.
